15 Nov, 2010

The world’s largest student site – student room, specialising in student and graduate recruitment and enagagement, has signed a deal with it’s sales partner Educate Ltd to acquire four in-house Account Managers. The deal was signed on the 25th October 2010 between Chris Newson, MD of Acumen PI (The Student Room’s parent company) and Director of Educate Ltd, Guy Griffiths. Chris Newson, Managing Director of Acumen PI said: The Student Room have been working very successfully with Educate, as our outsourced client representation, since early 2008; that success is largely due to their heritage in the education market as well as an impressive portfolio of products and publisher representation. That foundation has given The Student Room great coverage and built great client relations, which is why we have made the decision to take some of those top class individuals, with whom that early success was made, in-house. We will continue to work with Educate very closely in other key markets and remain part of their wider education product portfolio particularly in the International arena. The move to bring part of the sales team in-house is intended to provide clients with more personal service that includes consultation, student insight and dedicated account management. It is also a direct response to the success the site has had within the HE, Postgrad and Recruitment markets over the past two years. Dan Beynon, Commercial Director of Educate Ltd said: Over the last 3 years we have thoroughly enjoyed our work with The Student Room. During that time we have helped establish TSR as one of the leading channels for student recruitment in the UK education marketplace. Now The Student Rooms huge success demands its own dedicated in house sales team and I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to structure a deal that enables TSR to continue to benefit from the excellence of the Educate sales team. Educate’s own portfolio of world renowned media partners still includes Microsoft, Facebook, BBC.com and Orange and we will continue to bring cutting edge recruitment channels to the UK education market helping institutions meet their new challenges both in the UK and abroad For The Student Room this deal will allow us to help our clients build stronger, longer lasting relationships with their target audience and take advantage of the specialist expertise of their dedicated account manager. Meanwhile The Student Room will continue to work with our commercial sales partner SunChaser Media Ltd to bring major consumer brands to the site. You can find out the full details of how account managers will benefit our clients here The Student Room Assigns Account Managers to increase Client Support.
