The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has appointed Anthony Pierce, National Head of Marketing for Hudson, based in Birmingham¹s Victoria Square, as a new Regional Director for the West Midlands. The role will involve driving industry campaigns in the region and building links with local MPs and media as well as with employer organisations and Jobcentre Plus.

Commenting on his new role as REC Regional Director, Anthony Pierce says:

“The jobs market in the Midlands is proving extremely resilient and there are huge opportunities for the industry to continue enhancing its reputation and influence in the region.  I look forward to working with other REC and IRP members to drive our collective voice in the West Midlands. This is a great time to get involved in the REC’s work and to help make a difference”.

REC chief executive Kevin Green says:

³Our members are what make the REC. The work of our Regional Directors highlighting our campaigns and services to recruiters in their areas, providing us with specialist insights into their local jobs markets and helping us to promote the professionalization of the recruitment industry, is absolutely invaluable. We¹re really pleased that Anthony has joined us in this special role.²

Anthony started his career in recruitment in 1998, working for Michael Page Marketing in Birmingham before joining Hudson in January 2006. He was responsible for developing the organisation’s Human Resources practice for Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Manchester and Leeds and oversaw the most successful period in Hudson HR London since its inception. In January 2012, Anthony became the National Head for Hudson Marketing with responsibility for six teams across four locations (Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Manchester, London). Anthony still operates as a recruiter, maintaining client and candidate relationships at a senior level. Anthony has lived in Birmingham since 1998 and is passionate about the West Midlands and its development.
