A well-known global computer solutions company were looking to hire a new European Marketing Manager. After detailed discussions with the department Head, the scope of the role was agreed and MSC began work on the assignment. Our UK and German research teams created a project plan and started scouring the market and approaching over 100 individuals across the computer hardware and services market in Europe. After only 5 weeks and well ahead of the pre-agreed time scale a shortlist was created following extensive international face to face meetings with an MSC Director who also had extensive educational qualifications in marketing communications as well as previous corporate experience in a senior marketing role. These 4 shortlisted candidates were interviewed by the hiring manager and after an extensive client screening process one of the individuals was selected due to his seniority and highly relevant background in both IT hardware and software services. After accepting an offer and completing the notice period the candidate was relocated and began working in his new role. It became clear why this senior individual was selected as after only 6 months he was promoted to become Head of the Marketing department as his new boss was leaving. This was a prime example of fast paced succession planning and demonstrated that using a headhunter brings fresh new ideas to a team and enables a smooth and successful transition.
