A leading International Oil company contacted MSC Headhunters via a referral regarding a highly urgent assignment that required oil and gas executive recruiters. Following several calls and a video conference it was established that the company needed a worldwide Head of Business Development to negotiate high value deals. MSC Headhunting were quickly retained because of the requirement for fast results with a shortlist promised in just 3 weeks. The reason for the tight deadline was due to the client’s Board of Directors all attending an annual oil conference in Europe and so this was an ideal opportunity for them to conduct interviews and make a fast decision.
After an intense few weeks for MSC’s project delivery team, working every day for a fortnight, they managed to create a long list of candidates. Due to the time pressure and seniority of the role it was decided to use MSC’s researchers in Germany, Holland and the UK so we could achieve fast results and approach candidates all over Europe, the Middle East and South America. This enabled us to work across all time zones and weekends so that we could speak to candidates out of hours as well as during the day with the client. Only 2 weekly reports were required as the face to face interviews with an MSC Director were quickly arranged and the finalist shortlisted candidates were presented just in time for the client to conduct their own meetings.
The highest profile individual was selected who worked for the biggest competitor and following some tense negotiations, was offered a contract and accepted immediately. Once he began his new role results were quickly achieved as his new employer provided a great value proposition to their customers.
After seeing the positive impact of using MSC’s retained service we were once again engaged by the client to source very specialist managers for them. The client required 2 General Managers for operations in Russia and South America and so the process began again, but now the search was much easier because we knew the USP’s of our client and how the core values of the business attracted good people to them.
